Terms of use
Plain terms. You own what you generate, you are responsible for what you encode and for testing it, and the tool is provided as it is.
By using this website you agree to these terms. You may use QR codes generated here for any lawful purpose, including commercial use, with no fee or attribution. The service is provided without warranty, and you are responsible for testing codes before printing and for the content you encode.
Parties and scope
This website is operated by an individual, not a company, contactable at contact@qr-code-build.com ("we", "us"). There is no company, no registered office and no support team behind this site.
These terms apply to your use of qr-code-build.com and everything on it. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. They should be read alongside our privacy policy and disclaimer.
What you may do
- Codes you generate are yours. We retain no licence over them and require no attribution.
- Commercial use is permitted, including on products you sell and in client work you charge for.
- There is no limit on the number of codes you may generate.
- We claim no rights over the content you encode, and we never receive it.
- You may quote and link to the guides on this site with attribution.
The website itself — its text, design, code and images — remains our property or that of our licensors, and is protected by copyright. Third-party components are used under their own licences: the QR encoder under the MIT licence, the decoder under Apache 2.0, and IBM Plex under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.
What is on you
- Test before printing. Scan the exported file at final size, on the final material, with more than one device. We cannot be liable for a print run that fails to scan.
- Verify the payload. Decode your own code and confirm its contents, particularly for wallet addresses, payment details and links.
- Encode lawful content. You are responsible for the destination and for compliance with the law wherever the code is used.
- Respect third-party rights. QR Code is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE Incorporated. Use the term descriptively.
- Do not use codes to deceive. Placing codes that impersonate another organisation, or applying codes to property you do not control, may be a criminal offence.
What you must not do here
- Do not use the site for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.
- Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to, interfere with, damage or disrupt the site or any server or network connected to it.
- Do not introduce malicious code, or attempt any denial-of-service attack.
- Do not scrape at a rate that degrades the site for others. The pages are static — mirror them if you need bulk access; the content may be quoted with attribution.
- Do not resell access to the generator or present it as your own product.
- Do not use the generator to produce codes intended to defraud, harass or mislead.
We may suspend or withdraw access to the site, in whole or in part, without notice where we reasonably believe these terms have been breached.
The service is provided as it is
The site and the generator are provided on an as is and as available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude all representations, warranties and conditions, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
In particular we do not warrant that any generated code will scan on any particular device, print process or substrate; that the site will be uninterrupted, timely or error-free; or that the information on it is complete or current. Guidance on this site is general information and not professional advice for your circumstances.
Limits, and what cannot be limited
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, loss of anticipated savings, loss of goodwill, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site.
- We are specifically not liable for print costs, reprint costs, wasted materials or lost sales arising from codes that do not scan as intended.
- Because the site is free and no payment is taken, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with your use of it, whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise, is limited to the amount you have paid to use it, which is nothing.
- We are not liable for the content, availability or policies of any third-party website or service linked from here.
If you are a consumer, you keep whatever rights the consumer law of your own country gives you, and these terms do not affect them. Nothing here limits those rights, and where your local law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your own country's courts, that right is unaffected.
If you are a business, you use the site at your own risk and the limitations above apply in full.
Business users
If you use the site in the course of a business, you agree to indemnify us against any claims, losses, damages and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, from content you encode, or from your unlawful use of codes generated here. This clause does not apply to consumers.
To the site and to these terms
We may change the site or these terms at any time. The version published here at the time you use the site is the version that applies, and the date it was last reviewed is shown at the foot of this page. We may withdraw or discontinue the site without notice, though codes you have already downloaded are files you own and are unaffected by anything that happens to this website.
Governing law and other terms
- These terms are governed by the law applicable where the operator is based. Nothing in them removes any mandatory protection you have under the law of your own country.
- A consumer keeps any mandatory rights under the law of their own country of residence, including any right to bring proceedings there.
- If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in force.
- A delay in enforcing any provision is not a waiver of it.
- These terms, together with the privacy policy and disclaimer, are the entire agreement between us regarding the site.
- A person who is not a party to these terms has no right to enforce them.
