A QR code generator that encodes in your browser

Nothing you type is sent anywhere. Every code is static, so it works permanently with no account, no redirect service and no expiry date. Download at print quality and own it outright.

Short answer

QR Code Builder generates static QR codes entirely in your browser. The destination is encoded directly into the pattern rather than routed through a redirect, so codes never expire, have no scan limit, and keep working even if this website disappears. Export PNG, SVG or JPG at any size, free.

Why static

The difference that matters

Most free generators wrap your link in a short URL on their own domain. Your printed material then depends on their server, their business and their pricing decisions. When a service shuts down or a trial ends, every code printed through it stops working at once — and ink on paper cannot be updated.

Here, your destination is encoded directly in the pattern. There is no server in the middle, nothing to switch off, and no account holding your codes.

The trade-off is real: no analytics, and no editing after printing. If you need either, the dynamic codes guide shows how to build a redirect on a domain you own — which is better than renting one.

Print

Built by people who print these

Most generators give you an image and wish you luck. The readout beside the preview shows what the code actually is — its version, module grid, error correction headroom, bytes used against capacity, and the minimum width it should be printed at. That last number prevents most failed print runs.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is this QR code generator really free?
Yes. No account, no watermark, no scan limit, no paid tier for vector files, and commercial use is fine including on products you sell.
Do the QR codes expire?
No. The destination is encoded in the pattern itself, so there is no redirect that can be switched off. Codes keep working even if this site disappears.
Is my data sent to your server?
No. Encoding runs in your browser using a local JavaScript library. You can confirm it in the network tab of developer tools — no request is made when you type.
Can I track how many times my code is scanned?
Not with a static code, because nothing calls home. If you need scan counts, point the code at a short URL on your own domain and log the hits there.
What file format should I download?
SVG for anything printed, because it stays sharp at any size. PNG for screens, email and platforms that reject SVG.
Can I add my logo?
Yes. Set error correction to H, keep the logo under about 25% of the width, and centre it. The image never leaves your browser.
