Privacy policy
Short, because there is very little to describe. Nothing you type into the generator is transmitted, the site sets no cookies, and it makes no third-party requests at all.
QR Code Build does not collect personal data through the website. Encoding and decoding run entirely in your browser, so code contents — including Wi-Fi passwords, contact details and wallet addresses — are never transmitted. The site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no third-party resources.
Who is responsible for your data
This notice explains how the operator of this website handles personal data.
Data protection rules differ from country to country, and this site is reachable from all of them. Rather than track which regime applies to a given visitor, the site is built so that the question rarely arises: it collects no personal data, sets no cookies and makes no third-party requests. That satisfies the strictest common standard by default.
| Data controller | The individual who operates qr-code-build.com |
| Type | An individual, not a registered company |
| Contact for data matters | contact@qr-code-build.com |
| Data protection officer | Not appointed — not required at this scale |
| Website | qr-code-build.com |
What the website does not do
These are verifiable claims, not assurances. Open your browser's developer tools, use the generator, and watch the network tab — no request is made.
- Code contents. Everything typed into the generator stays in the page. Encoding is JavaScript running on your device.
- Uploaded images. Logos, and images decoded on the reader page, are read locally and never uploaded.
- Accounts. There are none. No email address is requested at any point.
- Analytics. No Google Analytics, no product analytics, no session recording, no heatmaps.
- Advertising. No ad network, no tracking pixels, no remarketing tags.
- Cookies and storage. The site sets no cookies and writes nothing to local or session storage.
- Third-party resources. Fonts are served from this domain. The site loads nothing from any external host, so no data about your visit reaches anyone else.
The limited data that does exist
| Data | Purpose | Why it is needed | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Server access logs (IP address, timestamp, page requested, user agent) | Delivering the site, security, and diagnosing faults | Necessary to run the website securely | Held by the hosting provider, typically for a short period |
| Email you send us | Answering your enquiry | Necessary to answer the enquiry you sent | Kept while the matter is live and for a reasonable period after, then deleted on request |
We do not use personal data for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell, rent or share it for marketing. Because there are no accounts or analytics, no profile of you exists to share.
Cookie and storage statement
Most data protection rules require consent before non-essential information is stored on a visitor's device. This site stores nothing at all:
- No first-party cookies.
- No third-party cookies, because there are no third-party resources.
- No local storage, session storage or IndexedDB.
- No device fingerprinting.
That is why you will not see a cookie banner here. There is nothing to consent to. If cookies are ever introduced, a compliant consent mechanism will be added before they are set, and this notice will be updated first.
Where data goes
The website itself sends no data anywhere. Server logs are generated by the hosting provider, whose infrastructure may be located in another country. Where that happens, the provider is chosen on the basis that it offers an appropriate standard of security and confidentiality.
Email sent to us is handled by our email provider under the same principles.
What you can require of us
Wherever you live, you can expect the following in relation to any personal data held about you. These reflect the rights given by most modern data protection laws:
- Be informed — this notice.
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure of your data in the circumstances the law provides.
- Restrict processing in certain circumstances.
- Data portability for data you provided, where processing is automated and based on consent or contract.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis.
- Not be subject to automated decision-making with legal or similarly significant effects. We do none.
To exercise any of these, email contact@qr-code-build.com or use the contact page. We respond within one month, free of charge. In practice the only personal data we are likely to hold is an email you sent us, so most requests are resolved immediately.
If you are unhappy with something
Raise it by email first. Most concerns are a misunderstanding or something that can be corrected the same day, and it is the fastest route to a fix.
If you are not satisfied with the answer, say so and it will be looked at again. Depending on where you live, you may also be able to raise the matter with the data protection authority for your country. Because this site collects no personal data, there is rarely anything for such an authority to examine.
A caution about what you publish
We never see your codes. But once you download and publish one, its contents can be read by anyone who photographs it. This matters for:
- Wi-Fi passwords, stored in plain text inside the pattern. Use a guest network.
- Contact details, which become permanently public once printed.
- Wallet addresses, which are visible on a public ledger together with every transaction sent to them.
The safety guide covers this in more detail. If you encode other people's personal data — staff contact details, customer references — you are the controller for that data and your own obligations apply.
Age and this service
This site is a general-purpose tool aimed at businesses and adults. It is not directed at children, and it collects no personal data from anyone, including children. No age verification is performed because no data is gathered.
Keeping this notice current
This notice may be updated to reflect changes to the site or the law. The date it was last reviewed is shown at the foot of this page. Where a change affects how personal data is handled, the notice is updated before the change takes effect.
If the site ever changes so that personal data is collected, this notice will be rewritten before that happens, and the obligations that come with collecting data will be reviewed properly at that point.
