Google review QR code generator

Most happy customers never leave a review because the path is too long. This shortens it to one scan and five stars.

  • Free
  • No sign-up
  • No expiry
  • Commercial use
Short answer

A Google review QR code encodes the direct review link from your Google Business Profile. Scanning opens the star-rating box immediately, skipping the search, the listing page and the scroll. The link is free to obtain from your own profile.

Getting the link

Where the real review URL lives

  1. Sign in to your Google Business Profile at business.google.com, or search your business name while signed in as the owner.
  2. Open Read reviews, then Get more reviews.
  3. Copy the short link. It looks like https://g.page/r/XXXXXXXXXXXX/review.
  4. Paste it into the generator above.

If your profile predates the short link, use the place-ID form: https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_ID. Google's Place ID Finder gives you the ID. Test the link in a private window before printing — it should open the rating box, not the listing.

Rules

What you can and cannot ask for

Google's policies are specific, and enforcement includes removing reviews or suspending profiles. The lines that matter:

  • No incentives. Do not offer a discount, a free item, or entry to a prize draw in exchange for a review. This is the most commonly broken rule and the most commonly penalised.
  • No review gating. Do not ask customers to rate you privately first and only send happy ones to Google. Filtering by sentiment is explicitly prohibited.
  • No bulk stations. A tablet in the shop where everyone reviews from the same IP address looks like manipulation and is treated as such.
  • Ask everyone, always. The same request, to every customer, regardless of how the visit went.

The honest version works better anyway. A code on the receipt with the words Tell us how we did collects a truer picture, and Google's ranking rewards a steady, natural review flow more than a burst of five-star entries.

Questions

Frequently asked

Where do I find my Google review link?
In your Google Business Profile, open Read reviews then Get more reviews and copy the short g.page link.
Can I offer a discount for leaving a review?
No. Incentivised reviews violate Google's policies and can get reviews removed or the profile suspended.
Does the code expire?
No. It is a static code encoding your review URL. It works as long as the profile exists.
Can I use one code for several locations?
No, and you should not. Each location has its own profile and its own review link. Reviews must land on the right listing.
